Broach
DeepWiki – The well service authority

A broach is used as a restriction remover. It is used to remove materials that has been built up to the tubing wall and reduced the ID of the tubing.
By running up and down with the broach, where the ID has been reduced from the materials attached to the tubing wall, the broach will scratch of the materials and bring back the original ID in the tubing.

There are several types and shapes of Broaches for different types of debris present.
We use Permanent Diameter, adjustable and collapsible. Collapsible is used when the debris has a tendency to jam the broach during operation.
